This Bordeaux Rouge supérieur is grown on clay-sandy soils, composed of 85% Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit verdot and Carmenère.
The nose is deep and powerful with aromas of red fruits. The mouth is concentrated, balanced, with fine tannins like roasted coffee.
The aging is done in oak barrels, thus bringing to the wine notes of roasting, liquorice, also offering a nice length in the mouth with quite sweet and pleasant tannins.
This vintage is a real success, and offers a rather interesting storage potential for a Bordeaux Superior red.

The Estate and the Vineyard
Château Recougne has been a wine estate since 1938, where four generations of the Milhade family have succeeded each other.It is located in the Bordeaux region, near the Fronsac mound, overlooking the Dordogne. The wines produced have the appellation Bordeaux Supérieur, on 100 hectares, on gentle clay-sandy slopes, with a basement of iron dirt.
The vineyard is mainly composed of Merlot, but it also includes Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmanère.
