Le domaine et le vignoble

Château Cap de Merle is a small-scale vineyard spanning 25 hectares within the Lussac-Saint-Émilion appellation. Its history dates back to spring 1966, when Roland Bel acquired it, initially comprising only three hectares of vineyards. Since then, delivering a wine that faithfully expresses its terroir has been a central concern for the viticulturists Alain and Jean-Marie Bel, who are members of the owning family. This commitment is reflected in their total involvement at every stage of production, from grape harvesting to the direct marketing of the wines, ensuring the quality and authenticity of the products offered.

Château Cap de Merle cultivates Cabernet and Merlot grape varieties, which are used for blending in the Château Cap de Merle, Lussac-Saint-Émilion, an appellation contrôlée.

The smooth operation of the vineyard is overseen by Jean-Marie, who conducts rigorous monitoring throughout the year. The vineyards are located on a clay-limestone plateau to the west, with colder clay soils to the north.
