The Estate and the Vineyard
The terroir is located on a vast plan culminating in the west, then gently tilting towards the estuary of the Gironde. Its perfect fit between gravelly rumps and a deep alios basement, allows the vines to benefit from a natural drainage system and also ideal irrigation to its good development, which therefore allows them toI hope that the Commission will be able to withstand the drought and also the excessive rains.
Each plot selected for the production of Baron de Nathaniel, is followed by the oenologists of Baron Philippe de Rothschild, in order to determine the most optimal date, to start the harvest.
This process allows us to preserve the personality and diversity of each plot and variety, and then to produce a quality blend.
After a long maceration of about 4 weeks, the juices will then be aged in French oak barrels, for 12 months, and will then be bottled in the Mouton Cadet Wine Centre.
Baron de Nathaniel is an exceptional Pauillac, paying tribute to his direct ancestors, thus honouring an illustrious family, thanks to the Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, who wished to associate their names with a selection of great Bordeaux appellations.
