The Estate and the Vineyard
The Castle Peyros whose origin dates from the 17th century is located on an exceptional terroir from the Pyrenean moraines. Facing South, the 20 hectares of the property consists of 70% Tannat and 30% Cabernet Franc, cultivated on clay-loam soils very dense rolled pebbles. The Lesgourges family also owns the Château de Laubade in the Bas Armagnac since 1999.
Corinne Lanyou, who joined Château Peyros in 2009, is now in charge of the production and winemaking. Château Peyros has been accredited Terravitis since the 2018 vintage.
The history of the Lesgourgues family begins in 1974. The 3rd generation, succeeding Maurice and Jean Jacques Lesgourgues, invested in domain management.
The Family now has five estates to its credit, four of which are fully owned, notably in the Graves, the Madiran, the Bas-Armagnac, as well as the Côtes de Blaye, in which the Family directs and controls commercial policy as well as winemaking.
Tradition and innovation are the key words that guide the family business.
