Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a clean and spicy wine that has been aged in barrels. It is a rich and full-bodied white with hints of white peaches, brioche and honeysuckle. Its nose is floral and fruity.
It is a gastronomic wine that can be eaten young. However, it is also a wine of keeping which the tasting can wait at least 5 years. Thus, it will develop aromas such as white truffle.
This Châteauneuf-du-Pape is ideal to accompany cheese of character but also white or red meats.
Food and wine pairing: Crustaceans, fish and white meats.
Year: 2021
Taste: Aromas of tangerine, orange and lime.
Tasting: 10/12°
Volume of alcohol: 14.5%
The Estate and the Vineyard
The Clos Saint Jean was created around 1900 by Edmond TACUSSEL. The estate remains family-run, now managed by Pascal and Vincent MAUREL.The estate covers 41 hectares on the clay-limestone plateau and slopes.
Soil cultivation is as natural as possible. The quality of the grapes and wine is therefore excellent.
This 2018 vintage is to be consumed between 2019 and 2027. It is pure and balanced thanks to the blend of white Grenache, Clairette and Roussane. Its purpose is freshness.
