The Estate and the Vineyard

The history of the Brotte Family is above all that of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape family with a passion for the terroirs and great wines of the Rhone Valley.

This magnificent family house, which was founded in 1931 by Charles Brotte, was one of the first, among the other large houses in the Valley, to offer a wide selection of wines from the Rhone Valley. His avant-garde spirit was also evident in his early export presence in the 1950s and the creation of a unique «Wine Museum» in Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Several generations of the family surround Laurent Brotte: his wife, Christine Brotte Grosset, Benoît and Thibault Brotte their sons.

The wine is harvested manually, destemmed, then crushed, then fermented at 28°C, followed by a maceration that will last in 3 and 4 weeks, to be finally, in centuries old oak barrels and also in French oak barrels, for 1 year, to develop very rich aromas and tannins.

This cuvée will convince and satisfy the lovers of the fruit in its youth, and also reward the most patient (up to 10 years of care) who will then enjoy its full potential.
