Riserva Nustrale Vermentinu 2021 is a refined white wine from the island of Corsica, made from the Vermentino grape variety. Known for its distinctive character, this wine highlights the island's unique terroir. The 2021 vintage offers a vibrant expression of the grape, with a delicate balance between freshness and complexity.
Visually, the wine presents a pale yellow hue with golden reflections. On the nose, it reveals a bouquet of aromatic herbs, citrus fruits, and subtle floral notes. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with flavors of ripe green apple, lemon zest, and a hint of Mediterranean herbs, all supported by a light minerality.
With a well-defined structure and a persistent finish, Riserva Nustrale Vermentinu 2021 is an excellent choice to pair with seafood, grilled fish, or light pasta dishes. This wine also has good aging potential, allowing its complexity to develop over time.
From the meticulous plot selection to hand harvesting on slopes with exceptional ripeness, every step is carefully controlled. Everything is designed to express the purity of the fruit: skin contact maceration and cold fermentation, selected yeasts, low-temperature fermentation, racking, and aging on fine lees for 1 to 2 months. Finally, the wine rests for 9 months in 2000-liter casks.

The estate and the vineyard

The Union of Associated Winemakers of Levant (UVAL) is the organization responsible for marketing the wines of the Marana Cooperative Winery, a group of producers founded in 1975 and located in Borgo, a town south of Bastia. The winery covers around 900 hectares of vineyards and includes about sixty winemakers spread along the eastern coast of Corsica. It offers branded wines and also produces wines for a select few private estates.

These soils, made up of limestone, clay, and colluvium, embody the very essence of the terroirs on the east coast of Corsica. To honor them, they are cultivated with care and dedication. The winemakers, driven by the desire to reveal the true expression of each grape variety, primarily use grapes sourced from carefully selected estates.
