This 2020 vintage Côtes du Rhône rouge from the Domaine de la Janasse is exceptionally early signs of a fresher wine with a very nice balance. Located to the east of the appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the commune of Courthézon, the vines are cultivated without pesticide or insecticide and the manure is of natural origin. The harvest is manual and the wine is aged in concrete vats and lightning for 6 to 9 months. This Rhône coast develops gourmet notes of fresh fruit, supported by a hint of liquorice.
Food and wine pairing: It goes perfectly with grilled meat or fresh tomato pie.
Taste: Moderately tannic and with a beautiful structure, this Rhône coast develops gourmet notes of fresh fruit supported by a hint of liquorice.
Tasting: 15/17°
Volume of alcohol: 13.5%
The Estate and the Vineyard
In 1967, Aimé Sabon took over the vines of his father and father-in-law to create the estate of Janasse in 1973. From 15 ha, it has grown to 90 ha. Joined by his son in the 90s and his daughter in the 2000s, the estate becomes one of the jewels of Châteauneuf du Pape, with different cuvées. The field is worked in reasoned agriculture.
