The Paradella Estate (AOP Patrimonio) is run by a young winemaker, Lionel Wojcik, who is in constant pursuit of excellence. After years of training in Bordeaux — with a special connection to Château Alverne in Saint-Émilion — Lionel successfully adapted the techniques he learned on the mainland to craft exceptional wines on his family’s Corsican estate.
Made from 90% Niellucciu and 10% Grenache, the wine is aged in new oak barrels (Radoux Blend) for 16 to 20 months. This high-quality choice enhances the fruit while achieving a rich balance between the wine’s components, thanks to oxygen migration through the oak’s perfectly uniform grain. The 2021 vintage is an excellent one, offering an explosion of fruit on the palate and a remarkably long finish.
Currently being restocked (expected on 05.09.2025).
Food and Wine Pairings: Hearty dishes such as roasted lamb with Provençal herbs, wild boar stew, braised wild boar, meat dishes with sauce, and game. Pairs beautifully with strong or aged cheeses (like brocciu), as well as traditional Corsican cured meats.
Nose: Explosive, with ripe or even candied red fruits, complemented by oaky, smoky, or grilled notes.
Palate: Powerful yet well-balanced, with great density and elegant tannins. Ripe fruit dominates, accompanied by subtle oak and a complex finish evoking toasted bread, smoke, and occasional animal undertones.
Grape Varieties: 90% Niellucciu, 10% Grenache
Managed by Lionel Wojcik since 2015, the Paradella vineyard (7.3 ha) is located on an exceptional clay-limestone terroir at the foot of the limestone cliffs separating Patrimonio from the sea and offering the appellation its unique microclimate. 6 hectares are reserved for red wine (Niellucciu and Grenache) and 1.3 hectares for white wine (Vermentinu). It consists mainly of Niellucciu (90%) relying on a small share of Grenache (10%) in compliance with the appellation. All the viticultural work is conducted in a reasoned approach within the framework of a Patrimonio appellation that banned glyphosate.
Malolactic fermentation is carried out in new barrels. The wine is then aged in new barrels (Radoux Blend) for 16 to 20 months. This choice of high quality allows both to sublimate the fruit but also to obtain a rich balance between the different elements thanks to the migration of oxygen through completely homogeneous oak seeds. No doubt excellence will take this promising young winemaker far.
