The Estate and the Vineyard
The Brotte Family is the story of 5 generations of Châteauneuf-du-Pape winemakers. The House was founded in 1931, is dedicated to the great terroirs of the Rhone Valley, crus, villages and Côtes du Rhône.
The family estates extend over Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Cairanne and Laudun for a total area of 90 hectares.
Today, 3 generations are in charge of this family empire, who dedicate their know-how to the creation of elegant wines, thanks to a work of the soil in reasoned culture, with a severe size of the stocks in winter, a green harvest and a stripping to limit the yield, in order to privilege the quality, to the quantity.
The harvest is done by hand, is operated at good maturity.
The vinification is of traditional type, with a slight crushing, and a vatting in concrete tank for about 2 weeks at 28/30°C.
The malolactic fermentation will be followed by an aging between 8 to 12 months in oak barrels and concrete tanks.
