The 2018 Château Haut Peyrat Cadillac Rouge is in a great year for bordeaux wines. The production of ripe and concentrated grapes has made it possible to develop a Bordeaux Cadillac with a perfect balance between grape varieties, merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon. The wine was fermented in thermoregulated concrete vats and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. The aromas of fruits, cherries, blackberries, chocolates and menthols with in addition toasted notes make it a superb vintage. He was awarded at the Brussels World Competition in 2021.
Food and wine pairing: It goes well with grilled meats or vegetables, a traditional dish in sauce or more exotic flavors like a tagine and marinades. It will also be the perfect companion for your aged cheeses.
This wine will be appreciated now or after a few years in the cellar.
Taste: Its ruby-red, brilliant colour reflects the fruit aromas emanating from the glass. It expresses a perfect balance between the delicacy of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, on cherry and blackberry, and the chocolate and menthol aromas of Cabernet Sauvignon, themselves delicately melted with the grilled notes of the ageing. Its power gives it a beautiful persistence.
