Estate and vineyard

Located in the northern part of the Côte de Nuits in Burgundy, the Jean Fournier estate has been producing white, red, and rosé wines across various AOCs from the Côte de Nuits to the Côte de Beaune since the 17th century.

Based in Marsannay-la-Côte, Domaine Jean Fournier is one of the oldest wine estates in the region, with family roots tracing back to the 1600s. The estate was officially founded in 1962 by Jean Fournier and is now run by his son, Laurent Fournier, who took over in 2001 and has since steered the domaine toward environmentally respectful viticulture.

Since 2008, the estate has been certified organic by Ecocert, a commitment that reflects a deep respect for the land and local biodiversity, and ensures wines made without synthetic chemicals.

The domaine spans 16.5 hectares, mainly planted with Pinot Noir (about 13 hectares), from vines aged 20 to 70 years. It also grows traditional white grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Aligoté. Among the vineyard’s unique features is a small parcel of Aligoté vines over 80 years old, highlighting the estate's dedication to preserving the region’s heritage varietals

Under Laurent Fournier’s leadership, the estate earned its first star in the Guide Vert in 2022 and was named a “Coup de Cœur” in the same year’s Guide Hachette des Vins.
