Crozes-Hermitage is vinified in a traditional way and comes from organic farming. This method gives it a more subtle balance and a marked minerality that differentiates it from others. The ageing takes a period of 12 months and is done in two parts: one part is made in concrete tank which preserves freshness and minerality; the second part is in cask, which brings power, consistency and complexity.
This cuvée «Les Meysonniers» comes from vines that are between 20 and 40 years old. It expresses a lot of gourmandise thanks to the Marsanne and with a passage in barrels that bring it power and aromatic complexity. The mouth is full and round.
The first nose evokes quince and peony with a lot of subtlety.
Food and wine pairing : Grilled red meats, tajines, couscous, spicy dishes and cheeses.
Year: 2023
Taste: Very fruity with red fruits, blackcurrant and raspberries and violet. Touch of vanilla.
Tasting: 16-18°
The Estate and the Vineyard
In the late 1990s, Mr. CHAPOUTIER took over the management of the family business, which had been operating in the Rhône Valley since 1808. Its objective is to enhance biodynamic properties to produce mineral and character wines. Thanks to this, he significantly increased the quality of his wines. These wines are then kept perfectly in time. His trading house thus experienced a period of prosperity due to investments in other regions and other countries (Australia).
Michel CHAPOUTIER is known for his enthusiasm and his love of wine and life.
