Château de la Grille is an exceptional wine with a rich and fascinating history dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries. Transformed and renovated in the nineteenth century by the Marquis Gustave de Cougny, this domain has become a reference in Chinon for its quality.
Château de la Grille 2018 AOC Chinon is an elegant and distinguished red wine with a deep garnet colour. It offers a complex aromatic bouquet with notes of tobacco, undergrowth, leather and spices. On the palate, it is supple and velvety with flavors of stewed black fruit, peppers and coffee beans. Its deep structure gives it a nice persistence in the mouth.
This wine is perfectly suited to lovers of complex and refined red wines. It goes perfectly with red meats, ripened cheeses and spicy dishes.
Food and wine pairing: To be served on game and pieces of rare beef, daube, cute veal with coffee sauce or deer with cranberries.

Christophe BAUDRY and Jean-Martin DUTOUR write a new page of their history by implanting themselves in the heart of Touraine. Their exploration of the terroirs dedicated to Sauvignon Blanc naturally led them to the Val de Cher where the expression of this grape variety is one of the most renowned.
They entrust the vineyard to Justine, Christophe’s daughter, who returns to her native region after exploring the vineyards of the world. She uses her know-how acquired in New Zealand, «the other country of Sauvignon», to reveal the subtleties of this grape variety, grown here according to the specifications of Organic Agriculture, in its preferred terroir.
