The Estate and the Vineyard

Domaine Orenga de Gaffory is an iconic vineyard located in the heart of the Patrimonio appellation, in Haute-Corse. Founded in 1967 by Pierre Orenga, great-grandson of Louis Napoléon Mattei, the creator of the famous Cap Corse, the estate today spans 56 hectares across five communes: Patrimonio, Saint-Florent, Oletta, Barbaggio, and Poggio d’Oletta.

The vineyard benefits from a temperate Mediterranean climate, enjoying generous sunshine and the refreshing sea breeze of the Libecciu, which brings freshness and balance to the grapes. The soils, mainly clay-limestone with schist veins, give the wines remarkable minerality and finesse.

Since 2019, the estate has been certified organic and labeled Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE). This approach reflects the Orenga de Gaffory family’s commitment to environmental preservation and the production of authentic wines that respect nature.

The estate offers a wide range of wines, including reds, whites, rosés, as well as Muscats and the traditional Rappu. Each cuvée reflects a unique terroir and a know-how passed down through generations. Among the flagship wines are Felice, Gouverneurs, and Signature, which illustrate the excellence of the domaine.

The estate is not only committed to producing quality wines but also places art at its core. Since 1991, the tasting cellar has been transformed into a contemporary art space, offering visitors a complete sensory experience combining the taste of wine and the beauty of the exhibited works.

Domaine Orenga de Gaffory welcomes visitors for tastings and guided tours. These moments allow guests to discover the history of the estate, winemaking methods, and to enjoy wines paired with local products. Visits are by appointment, providing a personalized and friendly experience.

In short, Domaine Orenga de Gaffory embodies the perfect harmony between winemaking tradition, environmental respect, and a passion for art, making every visit an immersion into the soul of Corsica.
