The Estate and the Vineyard

At the foot of the Montagne Noire, between Carcassonne and Narbonne, the estate spans a vast terroir of the Languedoc region. The land provides the wines with a noble, rich, and powerful expression.

Maison Cazes aims for excellence and demands performance; it is all of their expertise that you can savor with every sip of their wines. "Ostal" means house or family group in the ancient Occitan language.

In 2002, Jean-Michel Cazes acquired two estates in the region between Carcassonne and Narbonne, with the goal of forming a large estate of 150 hectares, including 60 hectares of vineyards and 25 hectares of olive groves. He named this property "l'Ostal," a term rich in meaning and history, signifying "residence" in ancient Occitan.

The wine from l'Ostal will undoubtedly become your preferred choice for the summer! It is an extremely pleasant rosé on the palate, highlighting its freshness and delightful character. It is a perfect companion for aperitif moments and pairs wonderfully with dishes such as basil and lemon prawns or spinach cannelloni, thanks to its magnificent aromatic assortment.
