Domaine Tariquet is a family-owned wine estate located in the southwest of France, in Gascony, in the Gers department. It is particularly known for its fresh and aromatic white wines as well as for the production of Armagnac.
The estate has belonged to the Grassa family since 1912. Originally, it mainly produced Armagnac, a traditional brandy from the region. From the 1980s onward, the family developed the production of modern white wines, which quickly gained great popularity in France and internationally.
The estate is located near the village of Eauze, in the heart of the historic region of Gascony, which is known for its soils that are well suited for viticulture and its mild oceanic climate.
Domaine Tariquet owns around 1,100 hectares of vineyards, making it one of the largest family-owned estates in France. The grape varieties grown include Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gros Manseng, and Petit Manseng. These varieties produce very fruity, lively, and aromatic wines that are often enjoyed while young.
Among the estate’s best-known wines are Classic (Ugni Blanc – Colombard), a fresh and light white wine; Premières Grives, a slightly sweet and highly aromatic white wine; Sauvignon, a lively wine with citrus notes; and Chardonnay, which is rounder and more structured.
Domaine Tariquet is known for its excellent value for money, its easy-to-drink wines, and a modern production style that still respects the terroir. Today, the estate exports its wines to more than 60 countries.
In summary, Domaine Tariquet is a large family estate in Gascony, famous for its aromatic white wines and its Armagnac, combining Gascon tradition with a modern approach to winemaking.
