Saint-Guilhem-Le-Désert Red, “Pur Péché,” from Domaine de L’Eglisette, displays a ruby color with violet highlights. On the nose, it reveals aromas of black fruits such as blackberry, blackcurrant, and cherry, sometimes accompanied by notes of spice, garrigue, or licorice that evoke the Mediterranean terroir.
On the palate, the wine is supple and generous, with ripe, velvety tannins, well-balanced freshness, and a lovely fruit-forward expression. It may also show a light to medium structure, leading to a pleasant and persistent finish.
In short, it is an approachable, well-balanced, and typically Mediterranean wine, enjoyable when young, though some estates may offer more structured and complex versions with good aging potential.
A true little gem, just waiting to be discovered!

Domaine de l’Églisette is a family-run winery located in Moulès-et-Baucels, in the Hérault Valley, between Montpellier and Nîmes.
The vineyards extend over approximately 14 to 17 hectares around a small 12th-century Romanesque church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, giving the estate an authentic and picturesque atmosphere.
Founded in 2015 by three passionate friends, the estate quickly set itself the goal of producing generous, well-balanced wines that faithfully express the terroir of the Languedoc. The vines benefit from significant temperature variations between day and night, which help develop good aromatic complexity in the grapes.
The estate produces various red and white wines, notably under the IGP Saint-Guilhem-Le-Désert designation and sometimes Terrasses du Larzac, using local Mediterranean grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, and Merlot, as well as white varieties like Grenache Blanc and Roussanne.
The wines are approachable and convivial, often fruity, structured, and representative of the southern Languedoc style—perfect for pairing with Mediterranean cuisine or sharing with friends.
