Located in Saint-Méard-de-Gurçon, in the heart of the Périgord Pourpre, Château Le Raz is an emblematic family-owned wine estate, renowned for the authenticity of its terroir and the quality of its wines. The Barde family has been established here since the 17th century, and the estate—passed down from generation to generation—has gradually developed precise expertise in the art of winemaking.
The main building, a former manor house typical of the Périgord region, stands out with its mansard roof and weathervanes shaped like fleurs-de-lis, a distinctive symbol of the estate. The property is surrounded by carefully tended vineyards stretching across clay-limestone slopes and sandy-clay soils.
With nearly 70 hectares, the Château Le Raz vineyard produces a wide range of wines: dry and sweet whites, reds, and rosés, made from traditional grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet, Sauvignon, and Muscadelle. The estate combines modern techniques with respect for tradition, favoring gentle vinification methods that yield elegant, balanced, and expressive wines.
Today, Château Le Raz is both a place steeped in history and a lively, dynamic estate committed to quality and to welcoming visitors eager to discover the winegrowing heritage of the Périgord.
