The Domaine Bernard Fleuriet & Fils is a family-owned wine estate located in La Vauvise, near Sancerre and Menetou-Salon in the Loire Valley (France). Founded in the early 1990s by Bernard Fleuriet and his wife, it is now run by their sons, Benoît and Mathieu, who have gradually taken over the family estate.
The domaine covers approximately 35 hectares of vineyards spread around Sancerre and Menetou-Salon, with parcels planted on the three main Sancerre terroirs: caillottes (limestone pebbles), terres blanches (Kimmeridgian marl), and flint (silex).
The estate has been certified organic since 2016 and has continued its commitment to biodynamic farming, obtaining Demeter certification around 2021.
Grapes are harvested by hand, and winemaking is carried out with minimal intervention to enhance the expression of terroir (use of indigenous yeasts, minimal sulfur).
The domaine is recognized for producing honest, authentic wines true to their appellations, focusing on fruit purity, minerality, and the expression of Sancerre terroir rather than overt winemaking techniques.
Main typical cuvées :
Sancerre Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc): fresh and vibrant, with a fine balance of fruit and minerality.
Sancerre Red & Rosé (Pinot Noir): elegant wines, often fruit-forward with structure and finesse.
Menetou-Salon Blanc & Red: generally more approachable wines, yet full of character.
Single-vineyard or special cuvées, such as La Baronne or Anthocyane, offer more complex or intense expressions depending on the terroir.
In summary, the domaine’s wines are authentic Loire Valley terroir wines—precise, balanced, and environmentally respectful—faithfully reflecting the identity of the Sancerrois, with freshness in the whites and finesse in the reds and rosés.
