Domaine Bernard Fleuriet & Fils is a family-owned winery located in La Vauvise, near Sancerre and Menetou-Salon in the Loire Valley, France. Founded in the early 1990s by Bernard Fleuriet and his wife, it is now run by their sons Benoît and Mathieu, who have gradually taken over the family legacy.
The estate covers approximately 35 hectares of vineyards spread around Sancerre and Menetou-Salon, with plots on the three main Sancerre terroirs: caillottes (limestone pebbles), terres blanches (white soils), and silex (flint).
The estate has been certified organic (Agriculture Biologique) since 2016 and has gradually adopted biodynamic practices, achieving Demeter certification around 2021.
Harvesting is done by hand, and vinification is carried out with minimal intervention to highlight the expression of the terroir (using native yeasts and minimal sulfur).
The estate is recognized for producing wines that are honest and true to their appellation, emphasizing fruit purity, minerality, and the Sancerre terroir rather than flashy winemaking techniques.
Main typical cuvées:
Sancerre Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc): fresh and lively, with a beautiful fruit-mineral expression.
Sancerre Rouge & Rosé (Pinot Noir): elegant, often fruity, with structure and finesse.
Menetou-Salon Blanc & Rouge: generally more approachable wines, yet full of character.
Specific cuvées like La Baronne or Anthocyane offer more complex or intense expressions depending on the terroir.
In short, the estate’s wines are authentic Loire terroir wines—precise, balanced, and environmentally respectful—reflecting the identity of the Sancerre region with freshness in the whites and finesse in the reds and rosés.
