The Pouilly-Fuissé 2023 from Maison Trenel brilliantly embodies the elegance of Chardonnay from southern Burgundy. Sourced from the limestone slopes of the Mâconnais, this wine fully reflects the richness and minerality of its terroir.
The vines, deeply rooted in stony clay-limestone soils, benefit from generous sunshine balanced by optimal day-to-night temperature variations. These ideal conditions allow the grapes to ripen harmoniously, preserving both aromatic freshness and precision.
On the palate, this Pouilly-Fuissé charms with its luminous color and delicate aromas of white fruits and citrus, enhanced by subtle floral and mineral nuances. The attack is clean and vibrant, the texture silky, supported by fine tension and a long, elegant finish.
Authentic and refined, it offers a compelling alternative to Burgundy’s great crus, combining charm, balance, and purity of expression.
Food Pairing: Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs perfectly with delicate and flavorful dishes without excessive richness. It harmonizes beautifully with seafood such as grilled sea bass or sea bream fillet, pan-seared scallops, roasted prawns, or salmon topped with a light lemon butter sauce.

Maison Trenel is a historic and respected wine merchant house based in Charnay-lès-Mâcon in the southern Mâconnais (Burgundy). It was founded in 1928 by Henri Claudius Trénel, originally specializing in fruit liqueurs and artisanal cordials before quickly turning to the purchase and vinification of grapes sourced from carefully selected terroirs.
With nearly a century of experience, the house has built its reputation on wines that faithfully reflect the authenticity of both fruit and terroir. Its vineyards are ideally situated on clay-limestone and stony soils, particularly around the famous Roche de Solutré, which lends the wines a distinctive minerality and natural elegance.
Since 2015, Maison Trenel has been part of the Michel Chapoutier group, while retaining its autonomy and unique identity. This partnership has further strengthened the focus on precise winemaking and overall wine quality.
Today, the house produces a complete range of white and red wines from the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions — from Mâcon-Villages and Saint-Véran to more gastronomic expressions such as Pouilly-Fuissé — combining Burgundian tradition, respect for terroir, and a clear, refined aromatic expression.
